This term we are celebrating festivals and the theme are we there yet?  We enjoyed exploring our local community around us with a learning walk to discover modes of transport in our community.  We have turned our book area into a transport themed reading area, as a railway carriage, bus and a boat.  We learnt about festivals such as Chinese New Year and the race of the animals and which modes of transport were used in the story, we had a Chinese themed lunch to celebrate Chinese New year.  We moved like tigers, and learnt facts about them, and particularly enjoyed roaring like tigers.  We made our own pirate boats with our hand prints for the sails learning how to walk the plank and singing a song about pirates to the row, row, row the boat tune.
