We aim to ensure that our whole cohort is represented each academic year and included in everything that we do.
We have various themes throughout each year that include a range of festivals and celebrations including Diwali, Chinese New Year and Christmas. We encourage parents/carers and figures from our local community to join us and to share their experiences with us to enhance our learning around these themes.
We use many tools to support the children’s learning such as books to reflect their home language, story sacks, multicultural dolls and toys and signs around the Pre-School in languages of children currently attending the setting.
We are able to offer our Policy & Procedure documents in other languages and formats as needed. Our staff use basic Sign Language and Makaton signs during daily routines and in songs.
We also us the WELCOMM communication programme to identify communication and language needs to enable us to support all children effectively.
