What a busy lead up to Christmas, our curriculum has been centred around why do hedgehogs hibernate and we have explored all things autumnal.  We read books that taught us how to look after winter animals and we learnt about the things we could do to help protect our planet, like feeding birds and picking up litter using litter picking tools.  As we love getting creative the children loved opportunities such as making their own playdough hedgehogs.  We shared Christmas stories such as the bear who stayed up and we made our own Christmas stockings, scavenged like squirrels for different types of nuts, and sponsored our own squirrel who resides locally on Brownsea Island through the National Trust.  We had great fun performing our Christmas songs and dressing up in nativity costumes.
